I am a native Detroiter and the sole proprietor and visionary behind Beauty is Key Cosmetology. I graduated from Communication Media Arts High School in 2003 and earned a BA in Political Science from Michigan State University in 2007.  It was while attending MSU, that I truly began to fine tune my hair care skills. Whether it be press and curls in the dorms, or sew ins and ponytails in my off campus apartment, I was always squeezing in clients between classes. I have always been a lover of hair care and a firm believer that switching up styles is the key to keeping your look fresh.

So, upon graduation from Michigan State, I decided to make it official and I enrolled in Michigan College of Beauty in Troy. In 2012, I completed my formal training and became a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Michigan. I continuously work on my craft, attend classes and network with master stylists to build upon my expertise. Beauty is my passion, healthy hair is my goal.  I love the feeling of making others feel good about their appearance, it’s simple hair therapy. I believe when one thinks she looks better, she feels better and no one can stop her after that!
